[En]The Monastery of Gabal al-Tair: History, Architecture and Art: This study aims to shed light on one of the most important Coptic hanging monasteries in Egypt. Nearly twenty centuries ago, the Holy Family arrived into Egypt escaping from Herodus, king of Bethlehem, who wanted to kill Jesus the Child according to the Coptic Orthodox Tradition. It is believed that the Holy Family spent about three years and eleven months in Egypt. During this period, the Holy Family visited many different places starting from Sinai, the Delta, the Libyan Desert, Cairo, and Middle Egypt and ended up in the Monastery of al-Muharraq at Asyut. The area of the Monastery of Gabal al-Tair is considered as one of the most beautiful and important archeological sites which was blessed by the visit of the Savior. A large number of visitors flock regularly throughout the year to this monastery due to its historical, archeological and artistic value. We shall highlight this monastery because of its importance in the Coptic heritage in order to manage the site heritage and to revitalize the area in tourism development.
